These huge spanners were used to keep the Welsh railway tracks safe. They are enormous, up to 1 metre high and very unwieldy. Fascinating in their own right. But they double up as a medieval wedding and in full flow.
Railway spanners yes, and they cn be more. This is what I see:
3 angels singing hosannas on the left. Then the bridegroom, upright and true as his trusty sword. Next to him the bride in fishtail gown and downcast gaze. Finally in celebration, the Mother In Law dancing, and her partner with the horns just has to be the devil.
Once you see another aspect of what you once took for granted, things are never quite the same again.
